Watch Now: The EPS Safe™ Debris Containment System Explained
See how it works and why it’s become a trusted choice for industry leaders

  • The patented EPS Safe™ system is an engineered perimeter debris containment system designed for structural steel, cast-in-place, renovation, and retrofit construction projects.

It is designed to prevent debris from leaving the building footprint while integrating with the structure as it is erected and maintaining access for the trades.

  • The EPS Safe™ system contains falling debris at the building perimeter, protecting workers, pedestrians, and surrounding property while crews perform elevated work.

The system is installed from behind the safety cable, reducing exposure at the building edge during installation.

Because the system can be installed at the earliest stages of erection, crews are able to work behind the netting from the start.

Installed at the active working perimeter, the system controls debris at the source rather than relying on protection below.

Each net includes a return flap at the base, designed to catch debris and direct it back into the building, helping prevent materials from falling to lower levels.

  • Outriggers are attached to perimeter columns in the laydown yard using predetermined bolt holes provided by the fabricator. Each outrigger comes with custom cables and pull lines already in place.

The columns are then raised and set with the outriggers attached, eliminating the need for additional picks and simplifying installation.

Once the steel is in place, cables are secured and custom nets are installed. The top of each net is connected to the pull line, raised into position, and clipped to the vertical cables.

As installation progresses, the system is built with the structure, allowing containment to be in place at the earliest stages of erection.

Once installed, nets can be quickly raised and lowered to allow access for material handling, maintenance, and daily operations.

  • The EPS Safe™ system is designed to integrate with cast-in-place construction by attaching to the structure as it is formed, allowing for continuous perimeter containment as the building progresses.

It has been specifically engineered and approved for use with climbing formwork systems from Doka, allowing it to move with the structure as each level is completed.

Compared to traditional screen systems, netting provides greater flexibility for material handling and access. Sections can be opened and closed as needed without significantly disrupting the work sequence.

Netting systems are also lighter than rigid screens, which can reduce loads on the structure and allow for more material to be shipped per truck, helping simplify site logistics and reduce deliveries.

This approach is especially effective on high rise and urban projects where working within the building footprint and minimizing disruption is critical.

  • Yes. The EPS Safe™ system can be engineered to incorporate fall protection depending on the specific requirements of the project.

Because structural conditions, loading requirements, and jobsite conditions vary, fall protection capabilities are evaluated as part of the engineering and system design process.

Components

  • EPS engineered outrigger system supporting debris containment netting providing fast installation and reduced labor on construction projects

    Outriggers

Pulleys, lines and cables lift and secure netting in place. Specialized outriggers are lightweight and installed by hand in the laydown yard, eliminating the need for a crane and reducing installation time.

  • Cocoon netting system enclosing multi-story construction building

    Nets

EPS Safe™ nets are dynamically tested and rated to contain up to 2,000 lbs of debris. Each panel is custom-fabricated for a precise fit, maximizing safety, containment, and reliability. Manufactured in the USA.

  • Tarps for winter heat

    Tarp Integration

EPS Safe™ tarps are supported by the netting system, reducing stress and minimizing tearing in high winds. Tarps can be lowered in minutes to prevent damage or quickly replaced if needed. The system keeps all tarp material contained behind the netting, eliminating dangerous blow-off and reducing cleanup labor.
